Second varsity eight crew wins ACC championship for Syracuse women’s rowing

No. 13 Syracuse competed in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament on Sunday on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina, and the second varsity eight boat led the Orange in capturing the ACC crown. The boat entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed overall prior to its first-place finish on Sunday.

With a time of 6:22 Syracuse barely beat out second place Virginia by one second, while Notre Dame finished third with a 6:31 time.

The third varsity eight boat, which entered the tournament as a No. 2 seed, finished in second place with a time of 6:41, six seconds behind first place Virginia. The No. 1 seed first varsity eight boat, Syracuse’s first since joining the ACC, finished third with a time of 6:23, four seconds slower than first place Virginia.
