Rachel Teslak was named College Hockey Association’s Defenseman of the Week, the league announced Monday. This marks the second consecutive week where Teslak has earned the award.

On Friday, Teslak netted two goals for SU in its first of a two-game series against Boston College. She scored once in the first period to give the Orange a 2-0 lead, then again in the third period to knot the game at 4-4.

Teslak won the award the previous week as a core part of Syracuse’s penalty kill unit. The unit killed off all seven opposing power play opportunities across SU’s two games against RPI on Oct. 13 and 14. Teslak also added a goal in the series.

In her first year at Syracuse, Teslak is tied for the team lead in goals with Heidi Knoll (3). Teslak’s goal total also ranks first out of all defensemen in the CHA.
